BioPathways
Connecting Classrooms to Careers in Life Sciences
Bridging the Talent Gap
Ohio’s life sciences sector is booming—but the talent pipeline isn’t keeping up. Students are curious but don’t see science careers as accessible. Teachers are eager to inspire but lack the resources and industry connections to do so effectively.
Ohio Life Sciences (OLS) envisioned a statewide education initiative that would change that—but needed a partner to bring the vision to life.
The Big Idea
Cogrounded partnered with OLS to launch BioPathways—a dynamic program designed to bridge the gap between education and industry.
By connecting students, educators, and life science professionals, BioPathways helps young people explore real careers in biotech, biosciences, and medical research—while giving teachers the tools to bring those careers into the classroom.
Activate – Build – Grow
Activate
Defined BioPathways’ brand identity and narrative, developing a positioning strategy to resonate with both schools and industry.
Build
Created hands-on educator resources, classroom-ready materials, and fostered partnerships with leading life science companies.
Grow
Led public rollout at major events like the COSI Big Science Celebration and laid the foundation for long-term collaboration.
The Impact
- 3,000+ students and educators engaged at the COSI Big Science Celebration.
- BioPathways recognized as Ohio’s flagship life sciences education initiative.
- Established a scalable model for workforce-aligned STEM education.
- Positioned Ohio Life Sciences as a connector between classrooms and the life sciences economy.
Expanding Reach
BioPathways is growing—reaching more schools, onboarding new industry partners, and empowering more students to see themselves in science. With a clear vision and proven framework, the program is becoming a cornerstone of Ohio’s STEM talent pipeline.
